Free after-school program available for teens ages 12-18 at AOC

Registration is now open for AOC Community Media’s after-school creative program called Muse. Each Monday, anyone ages 12-18 can participate in a wide variety of creative media-based activities led by AOC staff and visiting instructors.

Muse sessions begin at 4:30 and end around 6 p.m. at AOC. All sessions are free for students; although because sessions are first come, first served, pre-registration is encouraged. Students can register at www.aocinc.org/learn.asp for as many sessions as they wish. AOC membership is not required.

“Monday afternoons will continue to be a great time to be at AOC because of our Muse students,” said Ed Bowie, AOC executive director. “In the coming months, our goal continues to teach our students something they may have never even realized they can do, or even better, to inspire them to be creators of meaningful media now and in the future.”

Sessions are as follows:

Sept.11 - TV Stereotypes

Sept. 18 - Audio Podcast

Sept. 25 - Adobe Animate

Oct. 2 - Express Yo’Self

Oct. 9 - Fact or Fake News

Oct. 16 - 3 P’s of Powerful Media Producers

Oct. 23 - Create an Animation Armature

Nov. 6 - Voice Acting

Nov. 13 - Creative Selfies

Nov. 20 - Video Alphabet Scavenger Hunt

Dec. 4 - Studio Anywhere

Dec. 11 - Film Screening (End of the Year Party)

Students can now register for the free sessions of their choice at www.aocinc.org/learn.asp. To pre-register for all Muse sessions, you can also email njudice@aocinc.org to bypass registering manually for all sessions.
