There is one producer meeting left this year.  If you can not make the meeting in December, please make plans to attend one after the new year.   All series producers, equipment users and AOC staff are required to attend at least one of the these meetings.  These meetings will cover new policy and they will also give you a chance to ask questions and become familiar with changes that will be occurring here at AOC.  Please take note of the dates listed below and we will see you there.  All meetings will be held in ACFM.

Tricaster Logo  The new Studio Control room is online.

Workshops will be held on Monday, November 30th at 2pm and 6pm and again on Tuesday, December 1st at 2pm and 6pm.  ALL Directors for studio shows are required to attend one of these free training sessions.  The workshop will be 1 hour with a half hour session for hands on and Q&A.

The manual is available online here (Tricaster Broadcast Manual here)for those who want to study ahead.  Operation is fairly basic.  There are some difference in the setup and Character Generator Operations (CG).  Please note that your current graphics projects will NOT be able to be transferred to the new system.  Directors and Producers are urged to make at least a two hour reservation at some point prior to their show to recreate their on-air graphics.  Any questions can be directed to Kris via email.

All of the existing equipment in the current studio control room is being replaced with a single Newtek Tricaster Broadcast.  This system will be a much needed upgrade to the existing studio equipment that has served faithfully for over 18 years.  While there is a lot of excitement in the new equipment it comes with a learning curve.  Those persons interested in getting ahead of the curve can download a pdf copy of the manual for the Tricaster Broadcast here.

The Lafayette City Marshals were the first to use the new control room and we have some good feedback on it's operations.  Members now have access for training and actual studio productions. It is important to plan your show's migration to the new system because the old studio control will go offline December 15, 2009.

Both control rooms are operational until December 15th while directors train on the new equipment. Classes will be offered over the next month to aid in the transition between the two technologies.  Once the transition to the new control room has been completed, advanced classes will be offered on the Tricaster to explore some if the extended features.

For more information on the transition, please contact Kris via the contact page of this website.
