Program Distribution Agreement


All programming submitted to AOC Community Media must be received no later than 16 Business Hours before it is scheduled to air.

By completing and submitting AOC’s online content submission form, you warrant and represent to Acadiana Open Channel (hereinafter referred to as "AOC Community Media") that the programming submitted through this online form contains none of the following:

  • Programming made unlawful by any applicable federal or state law.

  • Advertising or material, which solicits people to buy, sell, or lease any product or service.

  • Appeals for funds, write-in or phone requests, that have not been approved by AOC Community Media's Executive Director.

  • Copyrighted material or other material subject to ownership or royalty rights unless released or licensed.

  • Libelous of slanderous material

  • Lottery information.

  • Invasion's of privacy.

  • Material offending community standards.

These warranties and representations are made by you in order that this program can be distributed free-of-charge on AOC Community Media's distribution systems. You agree, further, to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AOC Community Media, the City-Parish of Lafayette, Lafayette City Government, Lafayette Parish, Cox Communications, LUS Fiber, and any other member of their staffs, Board of Directors, officers, stockholders, etc. from any and all claims, demands, damages, or other liabilities which may be made against or arise out of the production and cablecasting of the program submitted by you whether or not the program has been reviewed by the City-Parish of Lafayette, Lafayette City Government, Lafayette Parish, Cox Communications,, LUS Fiber, and any member of their staffs, Board of Directors, officers, stockholders, etc., for all legal fees and expenses incurred by them in connection with any legal proceedings concerning the production and distribution of this program, as such legal fees and expenses arise.

By submitting this form, you acknowledge that you have received, read, understand, and will abide by the current edition of the Policies and Procedures for the use of AOC Community Media's public access facilities, services, equipment, and channels. Which can be found HERE.

I also understand and agree to cooperate with the following AOC policies:

  1. All equipment request forms must be approved BEFORE any equipment may be scheduled for production. The request form shall be presented in a timely fashion as determined by the production staff.

  2. The Programming Department retains the right to reject any program material submitted for cablecast that they judge to be of poor technical quality or that is otherwise judged to be in violation of any guidelines outlined above.

  3. All publicity and media contacts referring to programs aired on AOC must be handled through AOC’s programming department.

In addition to the warranties, representations, and indemnity agreements set forth above, and without further diminishing or reducing its force and effect, I, the submitant, further agree to the program review procedures of AOC as follows;

  1. If the programming department, the Executive Director, or any member of AOC staff, after having reviewed a program, is of the opinion that the program may contain material that appears to violate the submitants warranty or representation, the program may be cablecast only after it is viewed by the Program Advisory Committee, and a determination is made by the majority vote of the committee that the program does not contain material which violated the submitants warranty and representation set forth above.

  2. If the undersigned is dissatisfied with the decision of the Program Advisory Committee, then an appeal may be made to the Board of Directors by written notice to the President of the Board, whereupon the program shall be reviewed by the Board at its next regularly scheduled meeting. The decision of the Board members attending such a meeting shall be final.
