###
United Way of Acadiana is here for neighbors before, during, and after a disaster. For more than 72 years, the organization has been operating in the region to strengthen our community by lifting our local nonprofit groups who are providing disaster relief services. Currently, United Way serves as a conduit for local nonprofits while connecting clients to services, providing access to funding, providing support services, and accessing resources. No one should have to face a crisis alone.
Second Harvest Food Bank is an affiliated ministry of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans, a member of Feeding America, and a United Way Partner Agency. Second Harvest leads the fight against hunger and building food security in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education and disaster response, providing food to more than 500 partners and programs across 23 parishes. Second Harvest staff, volunteers, and community partners have also distributed more than 13 million pounds of supplies to recent hurricane survivors in Southwest Louisiana.
Catholic Charities of Acadiana's Disaster Response provides immediate response and long-term recovery assistance. Our staff provides leadership, guidance, and resources in our community and provides direct support with a unique understanding of needs before, during, and long after a disaster strikes. A program of Catholic Charities of Acadiana, Rebuilding Together Acadiana, provides home repairs and renovations to homeowners who are unable to make necessary improvements to their homes due to financial hardship, age, or disability.
