Carencro, LA - As part of social distancing in the wake of COVID-19 coronavirus, activities at both Carencro’s Pelican Park and the Carencro Sports Complex have been suspended for the next two weeks. This suspension of activities is part of a fluid situation that could be extended past the two-week period. More details are available here.

It is with heavy hearts that we prematurely end our 35th Anniversary Season, a season that has been one of celebration and revelry.

Due to the announcement by Governor Edwards to halt public events over 250 people until April 11th, Rhythms on the River will postpone the start date for our spring series.

Due to the on-going spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) combined with a very active flu season here in Acadiana, Mayor-President Josh Guillory has ordered the suspension of all activities at Lafayette Consolidated Government’s three senior centers until further notice.

Carencro, LA - Children and families have the chance to get ready for Easter and to welcome spring at Easter Family Fest, presented by the Carencro Cultural District. There will be fun outdoor activities for the whole family at this free event.

Beginning, Monday, March 16, 2020, side streets (West Farrel Road, Old Settlement Road, one of the two ends of Cherokee Lane, and Rue Chavaniac) will be closed at Kaliste Saloom Road and remain closed to facilitate paving operations associated with the Kaliste Saloom Road Widening Project.

All are invited to take part in beautifying Lafayette by cleaning its streets, parks and waterways and then joining in the “bash” afterwards for free lunch, live music and prizes.
