Let's flex our mental creative muscles! This workshop will guide students through fun improv exercises as they learn to express their emotions effectively through written and vocal practice.

Topic: Visual Arts, Sculpting

In this workshop, students will explore the basic tools and techniques to create detailed clay shapes, textures, patterns, and even some characters led by local artist and crafter Amber Ramirez!

Topic: Creative Writing & Performance

Students will learn about the role and use of performance art concepts like tone, emotion, and body language. They will practice some creative exercises with spoken word poet and Lyrically Inclined founder Alex “PoeticSoul” Johnson.

Students will learn and practice creating simple motion graphics using basic tools, techniques, and software in AOC’s Post Edit Lab.

Topic: Podcasting

Students will learn the basic skills and tools to produce their own podcasts! They will learn helpful tips for brainstorming topic ideas, scripting an episode, and voice recording.

Students will learn and practice some fun, creative improv acting exercises to improve their performance whether on the stage or the big screen!

In the spirit of Festival season, students will take the lead as the camera crew for some fun in-studio performances! Students are welcome to bring their own talent acts! (ex: musical instrument, song and dance, etc.)

Topic: Audio Production

Students will experiment with fun audio elements, from music to sound & voice effects, to produce their own engaging short digital storybooks.

Topic: Visual Arts, Graphic Design

Students will learn to navigate Canva’s simple graphic design tools to produce basic lines, shapes, logos, and figures.

Topic: Video Editing, Post-Production

Students will learn how to navigate Final Cut Pro X, AOC’s most popular video editing software, by producing their own unique video mashups!
