AOC Community Media Launches Fundraiser: Couch Potato 10k

Officials from AOC Community Media announced its first official fundraiser called the “Couch Potato 10k: All the Fun without the Run”. Proceeds from the Couch Potato 10k will help support AOC Community Media which is open access television with a wide array of tools, support, education, distribution & sharing, archiving at little or no cost to the public.

“AOC’s mission is to build an informed and engaged community through media, technology and education. We provide a platform for everyone in Lafayette Parish who wishes to participate in community dialog with all the tools they need from a public access center,” said Ed Bowie, Executive Director. “We offer instructional workshops, a podcast network, editing lab and television studios for the general public to take full advantage of producing their own content.”

Registration fee to participate is $35 and can be processed through Eventbrite. All participants will be eligible to win door prizes, receive a commemorative Couch Potato t-shirt and entry into the finish line party on Saturday, April 20 from 4-6pm at the Wurst Biergarten. There will be live music from Homegrown Reggae, games, raffles and the good feeling that comes from contributing to such a worthy cause.
