Planetarium Marathon at the Lafayette Science Museum

The Lafayette Science Museum will hold its 6 th annual Planetarium Marathon

from Tuesday, July 16 through Thursday, July 18. During the three-day event, the

planetarium will present 7 programs daily beginning at 9:30 a.m., repeating only its

constellation program, “The Sky Tonight,” each day at 4:00 p.m. In all, the Marathon

will feature 19 different presentations (including 6 children’s programs) about astronomy

and space flight. Planetarium programs are free with paid admission to the Museum.

This year’s Planetarium Marathon will be part of the Museum’s celebration of the

50 th anniversary of Apollo 11, the first piloted landing on the Moon.

The Lafayette Science Museum is located in downtown Lafayette at 433 Jefferson

Street. Museum hours are Tuesday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m.

to 6 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 p.m. through 6 p.m. For more information visit the LSM
