Foster the Love Louisiana Teams Up with Local Businesses to Create First Nights Bags for Foster Children

Foster the Love Louisiana is now accepting donations for Firsts Night Bags for foster children across Acadiana. First Nights bags include everything a foster child and foster family might need for their first night in a new place.

Often foster families are left scrambling to get basic items like, toothbrushes, formula, diapers, and more so they can make it through their first few hours.

“It’s already a scary situation for the child, we want to make sure the foster families can focus on the immediate and emotional needs, not have to run out to the store in the middle of the night,” explains Heather Duhon, Executive Director of Foster the Love Louisiana. “Just providing a few items in the First Nights Bags can make a huge difference.”

Foster the Love Louisiana has teamed up with The Loft Salon, Hue Salon, Chop Leauxcal, Blush Salon, CycleBar, LOS Urgent Care, David & Eldredge ENT, Sterling Premium Select, Magnolia Family Chiropractic, The Pink Paisley, Black Café, The Skin Loft Med Spa, FastSigns of Lafayette, Learning Adventures, Education Destination, New Day Community Outreach and DeLoach Therapy Services to collect donations. You can drop off items for First Nights Bags at their locations.
