Ribbon Cutting for Councilwoman Hebert’s “Adopt A Stop” Program

With less than 10% of Lafayette’s bus shelters covered, the Adopt A Stop initiative aims to build more covered shelters for bus riders in Lafayette through the generous donations of business partners such as the Lafayette Bar Association and Foundation. Councilwoman Liz Hebert is working with local businesses to cover the cost of construction for sheltered stops through the program.

University Underpass Revitalization Kickoff

The N. University Underpass revitalization project will begin on September 9. This project consists of pressure washing, sealing and painting the walls of the underpass. As a welcome to motorists entering the city, “Bienvenue” will be painted on the structure.

September is Library Card Sign-up Month

The Lafayette Public Library has joined forces with the American Library Association (ALA)<http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/card> and libraries nationwide to remind families, students, and people of all ages that signing up for a library card opens a world of possibilities. Access to a library offers so many things that a family may not have at home: a quiet place to study, Wi-Fi, and in some cases, a working computer and printer.
